The association MedicalAid India e.V., founded in April 2015, is registered in the Krefeld register of associations under the number VR 4603 and was recognized as a non-profit organization by the Krefeld tax office in 2015 (tax number 117/5866/0571).

The association was initiated by the Krefeld ENT doctor, Dr. Susanne Wagener. The goal of this voluntary association is to establish free medical care for the residents of the Indian town of Penukonda and the surrounding villages. The region relies on agriculture, and a portion of the population is extremely poor. For most, even one proper meal a day is unaffordable. Electricity and running water are luxuries that many of the residents do not have access to.
